Somewhere Between...a Meltdown and the North Pole....
Ok...I have been so bad....not blogged in quite some time. The story of our lives over the past month will take several blogs...so I will have to take it a little at a time. Just to give you hints...we've had 2 trips to the ER, one plastic surgeon, one hospital stay, countless trips to the pharmacy, two birthdays and the book fair is next week!
Curious????
Today, however, I am going to tell the traumatic story of Annabel's first minus five. (For those with no kids...this is like a "mark" or conduct slip in school!)...
Let me lead in by bragging that my Annabel went ALL last year with out a SINGLE "red light" (Kindergarten version of the minus five)...teachers love her!
Well...today, as I was decorating the library for bookfair...making it look like the North Pole, I see a red-faced, sobbing Annabel heading my way. I thought something was seriously wrong...she was bordering on hysterical. She finally made it to me and fell to pieces, "M-m-m-om-my! I-I-I got-got-got a-a m-m-m-m-inus f-f-f-f-i-i-ve!" Now, I admit, as I hugged her I had to laugh! Here is Annabel, literally falling apart over ONE minus five. As Noah will willingly tell you, we celebrate if he gets less than 2 in a day...Noah is the king of Minus Fives. (Such a proud Mama)... And here is the Princess, basically writing off her Elementary Education over one minus five. I assured her I was not mad, that I was proud of her, and she dried the tears and headed back to class. I continued to giggle...she is such a sweet child. She really loves to please, hates to be in trouble. Tob and I can't come up with one time we have spanked her...not to say she is perfect. She can throw the 'tude around -she is a female, of course. She just hates for people to be upset with her.
I ran into her sweet teacher later in the day, checked to make sure she had fully recovered from the trauma, and finished the North Pole.
